2003-10-29 Regulatory Malpractice - The NRC's "Handling" of the PWR Containment Sump
UCS mailed the attached report to the NRC's Office of the Inspector
General today asking them to investigate our charge that the NRC is
not enforcing federal regulations promulgated to protect public health
and safety. The attached report documents, in the NRC's own words,
how they developed a scheme to allow nuclear plants to operate even
though known safety issues, like the PWR containment sump issue,
are not resolved.
